Hi all

Here's my first attempt - only been cooking about an hour but I left it too late to add some sparkle to the pink one!

The amber one has some gold metallic powder in it and some mustard seeds to add interest!

If it works out right I hope to turn a pen with it tomorrow - I'll post the results even if it's a disaster....

Cheers

The bench isn't messy enough yet... more stuff... MORE STUFF!!

Seriously though, congrats on your first cast... welcome to the madness. We will anxiously await the turned results. But the casts look really solid. Well Done! And now... back to the lab.... (cue the maniacal laugh soundtrak)

....well, I couldn't wait until tomorrow!! Had a go at turning the pink cast - hit a lot of air bubbles so must vibrate mould next time. I've posted a picture in SOYP but here it is as well...

And here's a close up of the cast - didn't quite get the look I was hoping for with the white - but it was a thrill to get to this

Had trouble getting the picture to look like the pen - will have to have another go in better light tomorrow.

P.S. Will work on the clutter - need to buy some more resin already!!

Thanks Terry and Mather
The pink was a mixture of red and white opaque pigments from this supplier. I also added 10% flexible resin additive. I don't have a pressure pot (...yet!) so it was just left in a small lunchbox - there were some air bubbles but fortunately these were all turned before I got to the finished size.

Off to turn some fake amber now!

Cheers

If you got a scroll saw put your casting on the scroll saw table and turn it on, vibration will make the bubbles raise up. HTH

BTW nice casting and colour

Thanks Terry and Mather
