Hi everyone,
I am getting ready to do my first casting (see attached Cherry burl picture please). I will use a Vacuum pump and a pressure paint pot as well.

The question is: Do I have to remove all the dark stuff? What color Acrylic do you think would good?

Thanks in advance and happy turning to all.

Pedro

Totally up to you , I wouldn`t but some do , unless it is dirt , which should be removed .

Black almost always looks good , some reds would also .

You just need to make sure it is clean. The resin will fill the gaps and stabilize it even if it is loose. The color is totally up to you. I [refer something with a little swirl effect rather than just an opaque color. Try green or purple if you want something other than black (which is always a safe choice).
