Greetings from Nebraska.

Making my first Apollo kit a few days ago inspired me to pour some long blanks to use for my next one. These were cast in a schedule 80 PVC mold. They are about 8-inches long. I call them Golgari. Golgari is a guild in Magic The Gathering which represents balance of life and death, decay, and re-growth. Their colors are a combination of black and green that represent a blend of undead and natural creatures.

Alumilite Clear Slow resin, Eye Candy pigments, 50% Ronin Black, 20% Gage Green, 15% Nori Green, and 15% Jade Green.
(I think there is more black than green, and I think the mixing is more than it looks like. Time will tell after they are turned).

Did you pour these in a pvc pipe? And how did you manage to get them out afterwards? Compressed air?

Yes, I used schedule 80 PVC pipe and as Michele (Hippie3180) indicated, I used Stoner mold release for urethane and they simply got pushed out from one end. (I did use a wooden dowel and a mallet to persuade them a little though). - Dave

Do you happen to play MTG?
I've always been preferential to blue, black, white.
But, red always makes for some fun play.

Would love to see them turned and made into pens!!

I cast a lot of my longer 'bespoke' length blanks in PVC pipe - it works great for the job especially when I am casting a blank from a 3D printed component that I will be embedding in the resin. As Dave said in his post, Stoner mold release works great - a little tapping and they come right out. Be sure to use the right release agent, epoxy release is different than urethane and both need time to dry thoroughly before pouring resin into it. I bought silicone plugs off Amazon to close one end and made a round upright rack to hold 6 to 8 of the PVC tubes upright in the pressure pot. Is a less expensive option to long silicone molds.
