These aren't perfect, but they look damn good to me! I had a very slow leak while these were in the pot and I had a few tiny little voids that I filled in with some thin CA. I had actually made these about 2 months ago and I wasn't happy with them at the time bc some of the wood floated to the top and crap like that so I set them aside and just found them last night while going through all my casting stuff. Needless to say I took them to the table saw this morning along with some other new castings and man was I surprised! Not all the blanks ended up being usable with the wood floating out of the resin (I did have them anchored down but came loose while in the pot). Now I just need a bit of shop time to see if these turn well and then I think I'll give it another try since I have a huge box of cutoffs I got from Nolan (BTW these came from him as well, great stuff!). The burl in the red resin looks like brown mallee but I'm not sure whats in the blue. Thanks for looking and any comments appreciated as well as any tips!

They look great. I am very intrigued by the cast burls. I think they make for a lot of character in a finished pen. Nicely Done...

Pretty good looking stuff you got there!

Did you mean to post the same attchment five times?

Think the red casting looks a little better, but that just a personal thing....

I agree, looking good so far but the proof is in the pudding as they say. Perhaps you should send me a couple to test and see how well they do!!!
