Well posted the finished pen in the SOYP forum, but here is the blank it came from.

I attempted to inlay the green and red pieces while it was curing, it worked ok to be nice. Turning it was ok, still to brittle, I could tell the difference between my cast and the green and red pieces alot!

Was hoping this would have came out better, was going to use it as my PITH pen for creativewriting. But now back to the drawing board.

Trying to get the right amount of MEKP in there to allow it to cure but not be to hard is a pain. Hats off to those who do these and do it good. I have one more batch curing now, will see how that goes, if it isn't any better, I am done trying, going to stick to turning them and buying them.

I found the casting craft resin much much more brittle than the Silmar most here use regardless of the amount of MEKP you put in it.

Have you thought about a single gallon of Silmar as a test run?
