Seems we're surrounded, at 5PM I turned on the TV and all local news for the last 4 hours reported on the wild fires here. My daughter and grand-daughter live in Choctaw and the fire seems to have ingulfed her neighborhood. Was able to talk to my grandaughter for a very short time, she got the dogs out. Seems that the cell phone towers were burnt down accourding to the news and we haven't heard from them. At 7:30 We received a call from her alarm company that her alarm went off, don't know if her house burnt or if the smoke set it off. We are hearing that between 75-150 homes were damaged and the fire is still raging now at 9:15.

That's bad, Roy. I wonder what kind of year we're going to have, not a single drop of rain this Spring. I'm guessing you guys have been dry too. Affirmative thoughts are heading your way.

Dale

Best thoughts your family's way, Roy. My in-laws lived in San Diego and it was an annual event to see how close the fires would get. Hope yours make it through safely.

Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. need to dig out the map and see where you are compared to my cousins.

Thanks all for your prayers, everyone is safe. We won't know until the morning if their house is standing as nobody is allowed in the aera.

Update, Both are fine and the fire Dept. and the Police have let them in this morning. The house was fine, lots of smoke and some homes had some damage but none as far as we know in her block were destroyed, thank goodness. Thank all for your concern, thoughts and prayers.

Isn't this a bit early in the year for this nonsense? I mean, how hot is it around you guys anyway? We get boomers (lightning-we're the second highest rate of strikes in the country), but it's got to heat up a lot around here yet for that stuff.

Glad to hear everyone's safe, Roy. Other folks are right, 2x4's can be replaced, loved ones can't.

Dale

Glad to hear your loved ones are safe. Make sure that Hope the smokey smell can be gotten out of the house easily and that your granddaughter recovers from the fear of it all.

Everything still set for your get-together on the 25th? We're still heading that way and will see you then. Glad to hear all is OK with your family. We're stopping in Lone Grove before we hit Shawnee. Kathy has a 1/2 bro there and we heard from him that half the town was blown away from the twister that hit. OK has really been a target this year, maybe it will start to ease up.

See you soon, George

Been out of town for the Easter weekend. Sure glad to see your daughter and family is OK. Bless them all and those affected by the fire.
