Hi guys I would like to introduce n
myself, my name is Colin Parr and I am a retire teacher from across the pond (uk). I have been in the wood business since the age of eleven and have never had reason to leave it. I spent 17 years in the RAF doing all manner of things such as Sopwith Camel aircraft full size for exhibitions through to f111 fighter cockpits for training pilots. I left the RAF and set up my own carpentry and joinery business which I did for 10years or so and then packed it in to go to university to get educated? The remainder of my working life a been spent as a teacher of design technology. I am now retired and looking forward to working with wood for my own satisfaction . I have been turning for the last ten years and love all aspects of turning . I look forward to sharing ideas with other turners and more importantly getting to know how things work the other side of the pond where woodturning and the crafts seem to be more appreciated. kind regards Colin (second attempt hence the title)

Hi Tom I live in Cambridge which is a lovely city with many historical buildings and a world class University. I have retired for the second time but I am finding it difficult to deal with four walls and nobody to interact with. I am toying with the idea of starting my own woodturning business as I have a decent workshop with five lathes and a bundle of tools. Question is there any difference between the junior gentle man pen and the jun/gent mark11?. Thanks to all for your generous welcome
kind regards Colin

Do a good turn daily!
