Does anybody or any place sell wood blanks specifically sized for pendant necklaces?

I bought a couple thin wood strips from woodcraft for $13-15 each to cut up for pendants. The thing is - I don't want to make a lot of the same ones. I'd like to make a couple of each of half a dozen woods.

Any ideas or sources other than buying a big spindle or board for each wood? I can certainly do that - I'm just curious about options.

How about if I make and send you a few blanks,
tell me what size and how thick,
pm me your address

I use cut small squares and using a jig I made and a hole saw, pilot bit removed, on the drill press cut circles. Take circles and using two sided turners tape, affix them to a wooden faceplate or chuck. Turn the back side smooth and finish with CA, flip over and finish the front. If an off center hole is desired, make a jig for that too. I can help more if needed

I've already made several using about the same method. Thanks.

The hole saw idea is an interesting one to consider. Although it only takes me a few seconds to round a square blank on the lathe.

I guess the question a should have asked is about getting appropriate sizes of exotic wood cutoffs for cheap.

Thanks dan. These are roughly 2" diameter. Hole saw needs to be 1/8 larger than the desired size so that you're getting the inside rather than outside diameter. I have made earrings using a 3/4" as we'll as 'donuts' from 1.5"

Hi Dan,
Check out Ruth Niles Joyner Pendant Jig.
She is going to be selling pendant blanks from colorwood soon (I hear).

Send me a pm and I can hook you up with the person making the blanks.

I've looked at that jig. It looks really cool and fairly reasonable. Yet expensive enough for what I can do on a faceplate. If I was going into production, I'd certainly get one.

I'll send a pm. Thanks

No worries about showing off. I love the variety of stuff there. You are more artistic than I even desire to be. I'm all about the simple leather cord for the pendants I just like all sorts of different and fun projects.
