Since we occasionally post items here not related to pens and penturing, I thought I'd post my latest gloat!
As many of you know, I have a fondness for knives, particularly the Kershaw Leek variety. For over a year I have have been watching Ebay for a particular model of Leek, and last week I snagged one! It's a model 1660 (Leek) Ti/ZDP. They really didn't make too many of these, and they have become hard to find. This particular one was used, but is in nice condition. It is missing the blade lock, that that's no big deal. It is Duracoated in a digital camo pattern (Hey Brian, did you do this?) I am pretty thrilled about this, and have been using it all day!
What makes this special is the special ZDP 189 steel used in the blade. Most other knives on the market with this steel are horribly expensive. Add to that that the handle is titanium rather than the usual stainless steel, and it makes for one bad-a** knife!
Also Kershaw Leek related, I have to let slip that I sent a couple of Leeks off to Brian and had him Duracoat them in some bright color combinations for me. I got them back last week, and I have to say that Brian sure does a nice job! I still need to reassemble them, maybe tonight. But I'll be sure to post pictures here when I do get them put back together.
To keep you going until then, at least here are pictures of my new Ti/ZDP Kershaw Leek! Not bad pics for my cell-phone camera!![Cool  ](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
