I had just finished a nice figured wood blank, went through the five grits of sandpaper and applied six coats of thin Titebond CA applied with a paper towel. I noticed very small scratches around the diameter. What to do? 12000 MM didn't work but left a residue. Tried a Dremel with a polishing pad and white rouge. Nothing. Finally, I took inventory of my stock and remembered I had posed a question on finishing a while back. OK, tried a coating of Hutt polish. First time it showed some improvement. Second time was better, Third time was a charm as the micro scratches were gone, leaving a nice polished, shiny finish. Not sure of the wood species but, if I remember (CRS), I'll take a photo of it.
BTW, tried craft foam and a parts bag...didn't like the results.
