I'm now the proud owner of a Oneway 12x24. I've been drooling over the oneway lathes for years and found one on Craigslist a half an hour from my house. I showed The Boss and she said to go for it. I figured that particular set of circumstances was never to occur again. Now I just have to get it off the trailer and into the shop. The previoius owner threw in a strong hold chuck and bowl rests on top of a great price for the lathe. Now I really have to get to work and sell a few pens.

CongratZ Phil, If you need help getting it off the trailer let me know. I have a ramp and pallet jack at my parents, we should have no problem backing it off the trailer into their garage. :D[)]

Thanks for the offer Tom. It's now in place and has already spun some chips off a blank. I'm going back out to play some more in a few. I might be up late tonight.

he's so proud of the huge thing. made me go out to clean it for him while he was getting my little sister to trumpet lessons if he didn't have to do that i think he would still be there right now so i think your mum's garage is not the place for it plus i now also get to use it and it is a fine machine but very big and heavy hehe:D should have seen it getting in the workshop i gained some nice memories to tell my kids when i grow up now - his turning daughter emily

I have an idea for getting it off the trailer - you can drive it to my house and I'll unload it into my shop. You can then visit it any time you like........:D

Nice find!

Best,
Roger Garrett

Phil,

Sweeeeeet lathe. Gloat worthy indeed.

MapQuest says you are only about 35 miles from my Brother In Law. I'll bet he'd let you keep it at his place. I'll be there this summer and we could work out a way for you to come over. Hee Hee Hee

Thanks folks,
Roger Thanks for the offer but its all set up and in the shop. put it on a pallet and used the bobcat to lift it to the level of the door and it slid right in.
Rick, I turned one pen and a bowl on it so far and did not notice the stand being in the way.
Mark, drop me a note when you are in the area, I'll spot you for a cold one.
Phil

Hi Phil!

Congratulations! The 1224 is what I have, and it is a great lathe! You are going to enjoy it!

The cabinet does not get in the way, and it is very solid! It does occasionally collect a few chips though, but in my shop, everything collects chips! ;)

Have fun!

Scott.
