I have a stabalizing chamber on order. I have some with worm holes on them. I have seen blanks that had the worm holds filled with different colored material. I have no idea what I am doing with this. I would like to hear from members here that have done this. I believe this would produce some outstanding blanks. Let me know some ideas, tips, tricks, etc.

Mike

G'day Mike,

Those are ideal for 2 type of procedures, the ones without holes but spalted and soft, could be stabilised adding some colour to the resin/juice to break the whitish of the wood (I've got similar ones in my stabilisation chamber at this precise moment, with 3 colours, they will be going in the oven very soon).

Another hand full of the same spalted and soft wood but with worm holes have been cast with some yellow and blue Polyester resin and are also in the pressure pot until tomorrow morning so, will see how they come out so, it happens that I'm working at the moment on identical type blanks, mine are old Lucerne tree, this means that what I'm doing and explained above, is mu suggestion of what you can do with yours...!

Good luck,
Cheers
George
