A heavy box containing 120 pen blanks arrived the other day from a friend in California.
He said he had scraps from his high-end construction projects, knew I enjoyed pen turning, and took the time and care to cut them into perfect 0.75"x0.75"x12" pieces.
I wanted to get right into these blanks and decided to wrap four at a time in masking tape...
... before putting them on the chop saw and drilling them in batches.
I've found that it's easier (for me) to work with wider pieces while drilling and prepping the blanks because I can hold them free-hand on my drill press and they won't wobble.
