So, I've got my little pen shop where I do pretty well for a hobby business selling my handywork. Some of my pens are going for several hundreds of dollars and even have some pen maniacs making regular visits to see my ever evolving stock. I have a wonderful collection of beautiful materials for blanks. I use good quality kits. I try to always have a favorite pen in my pocket; a trustone Statesman or a Mutt Sedona or maybe even a pearl Churchill....right?

Well, I have something to admit.....something so shameful.... Help me my brothers (and sistas). I can't keep it in anymore.

MY.....favorite.........pen...........is............:embarrassed:.......THISSS!

That's right. All five bucks worth. I love this little EF nib and it's sexy spider web lines. I've been seriously racking my brain trying to figure out how I can make a respectable body for it. Any ideas?

Seriously though, it does feel kind of weird that I like this cheap little Pilot so much.

Well there is a group buy on the tap and dies and a good chuck will work instead of a collet chuck and collets and be useful for allot of other things . You gotta think positive .

Just imagine your Nib on this

Yes, I'm watching that intently but I have a few days before I have to decide to jump in or not. I want to do a bit more research on the subject. Ideally, I want to move away from kits in the future as my goal is to build a pen like the Namiki Emperor design minus the maki-e. Kits are getting a little less challenging these days and segmenting doesn't really float my boat so I think kitless is the direction I'm heading.
