Fashion Blue

I was looking over some fashion trend reports (one of the requirements of my day job) and I found this reference to the color blue as an emerging fashion accessory trend http://www.cross.com/Campaigns/2007.09.25web.htm

Interestingly it is a reference to Cross Pens and an ad for blue pens and accessories. I think I know the answer, but do you any of you ever attempt to bring any trend awareness to your pen making?

I'm not going to go out and make nothing but blue pens, but if I were going to a craft fair in the next month or two I think I would set up a display with some blue fabric, blue decorative props and several blue pens in various shades. A couple blue carnations and a piece of cobalt blue glassware would make a nice centerpiece and serve as a traffic stopper.

It might be right on target for some buyers, but more likely it would send a message that I have a sense of trendiness and if you buy one of my pens you get it too. That would certainly go right by the WalMart shopping, Bic using shopper, but she isn't my target customer anyway.
