In looking through E-bay, I ran across a famous Jewish artist selling a multitude of Jewish artworks for Hanukkah. His name is Gregory Ruvinsky and is in Jerusalem. He is selling spinning tops of rare wood with silver inlays for as much as $525. His pictures on E-bay show him working in his shop. I thought I'd post a picture of his shop so some of us with our less organized working fascilities would feel better about our mess. Now I don't feel so bad about the foot of sawdust on the floor and my benches fill with junk. Take a look at this guys shop.....................feel better now??????

He would be right at home in my shop. Except my piles are coordinated into rows as well. adds depth as well as height. I've always been told to incorporate both into my creations.

We had a guy at our Woodturners Club Christmas Party Tuesday night that brought a driedel he made to auction. He had his laser engraved, and it was cool, but it did not fetch 500 bucks! His went for around 75, I believe, but it was really nice. I'd love to see some of this guy's work.

His shop looks like the back half of mine... I have a 12 x 24 ft building.. my "work" shop area is about 9x12 and relatively neatish, the rest of the shop is "storage"... you go there with a lifeline attached to your belt and at your own risk. LOL Sad part is the band saw and table saw are both in "storage" area and I usually have to move a dozen or so pieces of something to use either one.

Uncle Gregory! Now I know where I know where my shop organizing skills come from...;)

The most talented, phenomenal woodturner I've ever seen.... and the man who taught me how to make a pen several years ago..... had a shop that was SO LOADED and CLUTTERED with power tools, lathes, wood, chisels, boxes, etc... that he literally only had room to stand in front of 3 of his 6-8 lathes. That's it.

If you gauge the price of a pen by the clutter in our shops, Would it be fair to bump the price to include the clutter in the family room also?
