Failure But Showing Promise

This one was experimental. No tube in just turned it to see what I might get. The dark brown is end grain and it didn't play nice. It does show promise though.

I read where Thomas Edison tried about 4K times before he got the incandescent lamp. If not, we would be watching TV by candlelight!

Very cool Ken. I love how different the views are on all sides. It's fascinating. I have worked some with end grain, and it can be really fussy. Your cutter needs to be really sharp, and taking light cuts.

Continuing the Thomas Edison theme about Failure, didn't he say something like "I didn't fail - I just found 10,000 ways this won't work"

I love experiments in which the whole purpose is a learning experience for the unexpected, both good and ugly. (The Good, The Bad, The Ugly. ) But most of all, the beautiful surprises that make us look like geniuses!
