Wow! Pen turning has led me into making lots of other gift itmes that I love to give to my family and friends. I have held back from posting here as I felt I wasn't skilled enough to share my work since I having only been turning a little while. I gained a little ore confidence now so thought I share this little ornamental Bird house I turned this weekend. Just like turning a little box and I made it from scrap wood. Also created an Apple and some State Coin Bottlstoppers.

Pat,

Those are wonderful! Hope you keep them coming.

BTW, you don't have to turn much to post...look at me (and Ed).:redface:

Thanks Peter and Dario for you compliments. I am really enjoying making the little items athat are quick and inexpensive but are so much apprecaited when I give them away. Everyone ask me if I sell them. I haven't decided to get into a produciton mode and make my enjoyable hobby into a WORK issue.

Pat, you have plenty of talent my friend!! You don't need talent to post pics either...I do it all the time!! Great lookig stoppers and birdhouse...I was waiting for you to say the apple was made out of applewood BTW. :)

Thanks Gary, I fell like I'm in Michigan today it was down to 18 degrees this am here in the middle of SC. I've post the other birdhouse and couple more bottlestoppers I've made in the past couple weeks. I appreciate your comments.

I love those birdhouses. I'm saving my pocket change for a set of jaws so that I can start playing around with those.

Good work on all of them.

State coin stoppers, get outa town! I just bought a roll of uncirculated SC quarters off ebay about a week ago. We've got a place here in town that sells SC themed things, I'm going to hit them up soon for some stoppers.

Thank You Victor and Chuck, I really like the quality of Ruth Niles stainless steel stoppers. At Christmas some of the folks has us over and the wine stopper they had was one of those gold plated pretty ones, but was pitted and pieces had flaked off into the wine. Good reason to buy stainless steel ones.
