It appears that everybody and his mother knows how to use the quote function.....everybody except me that is.

I'm writing about the function when you pick up all or part of a message that someone else wrote, then it shows up in your post with a dotted line around it and we all understand that you are directly responding to a specific statement by someone else.

I'm sitting here with my male ego bruised because I can't figure this out myself, and asking a site usage question is the new asking driving directions. I don't need a response from an alpha geek, maybe someone who considers themself a low-tech Luddite could enlighten me and make my humiliation complete.

Easy, just click on the small page icon with the arrow going into it.
It is above every individual post. When that appears in the reply box, you can edit out the bits that you don't want. Then after the last (/Quote) just write your message.
It is prefered if you edit out pics and the bits you are not refering to. Give it a try no one will mind:D

It's easier than you think...even a Luddite (one of my favorite references) can handle it. First, you cannot use the Quick Reply feature. When you use the regular Reply function, a response windown opens. The third line of that window contains a bunch of icons. One of them is

2008115175946_QuoteIcon.jpg

Once you have copied (Highlight the text and hit Ctl-C) and pasted (Position the cursor and hit Ctl-V) the text you highlight it again and click on the icon.

That's all there is to it.

You mean like this????
Top line right after the "Posted - XXXXX" there is a line of figures. The one that looks like a page with a return arrow through it is the link to post quotes.

Oh come on Doc .. we all know this is just because of your advancing age..... It makes it very difficult for you to follow along. ;) Of course the rest of us "youngsters" have no difficulty at all with these types of posts. [}:)]
