I spent the afternoon breaking down some Primavera logs with the sawmill. The interesting thing about the logs is that they have been squared with a chainsaw. Did I say squared? Well, sort of. This wood was out of Mexico where this is commonplace. Squaring logs with a chainsaw is not my idea of fun. Count our blessings.

I have quite a bit of scrounged wood that I need to work up with a chainsaw... I usually last about an hour to hour and half on the chain saw before the lower back gives out and I have to wait a day or two so I can walk again... I have a small chainsaw horse to hold the logs, but it's only about 18 inches high... sure wish it was about twice that.

I'm with you Chuck. I was looking at the side of the house today and was reminded of all the Rosewood I have stacked up waiting the saw. It has been patiently waiting on me since Hurricane Charley in 2004.

I know what you mean. When I find some timber I like I try to salvage as much as I can and end up not using all of it. Local species are so plentiful here in Tennessee, it is hard to give it away to other turners. I like wood so I keep looking and keep working!:biggrin:
