Even though I missed the Rendezvous last week, I did derive one benefit from it. I happen to live close to the route Gerry Rhoades had to drive to get home after attending the Rendezvous, so he stopped by to see my Wife and I on Saturday. Actually, we were at our cabin in Island Park Idaho, and being that close to some legendary fishing water probably helped to lure him into stopping!

We had a nice time talking penturning, Rendezvous and such, and he showed us some neat new resin pen blanks he had obtained. We also had plenty of time to talk about other things, and found that Gerry has some great stories of things he's done and places he's been! He spent the night with us, but like a typical fisherman, he was on his way early the next morning.

Thanks for stopping by Gerry! And thanks again for the nice wood blanks you left with me - I'll try to do them proud!

Scott,
It was a pleasure meeting you and Diane. I thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact, it was so much fun, I didn't even go fishing Saturday evening. My wife would tell that's highly unusual when I'm near "holy" water. And thanks again for the hospitality.

Gerry

Scott,
My good friend just moved to Island Park from Salt Lake City. He has a maintenance-handyman busines-took it over for someone retiring. He is a good woodworker, his name is Greg Walker if you see him around in his red dodge truck with a white trailer say hi he and his wife are really nice people. Glad to hear that you guys nmet up. Gerry I was only thirty miles from provo and you did not stop to see me.[}:)][:D] Hope you trip was a safe one and that you enjoyed the party in Provo.

My Grandparents have had a cabin in Island Park (Rancho McCrea) since about 1987. The spend the summers up there and winter down here near us in Arizona. I spent weeks at a time there most summers from '87-'96 but have only gone back 3 or 4 times since moving to Arizona in '97.

Hey Mike! I hope your friend likes it in Island Park! It would be refreshing to have an honest tradesman working in the area! I'll look forward to meeting him!

Jason - Our place is at McCrea Ranch, which is in between Rancho McCrea and the bridge. Maybe you ought to consider coming back up for a visit!

Scott.

Scott, I also have a Great-Aunt and Great-Uncle who have a cabin in the area. If I remember correctly it's the first cabin on the left as you start down the road to Rancho McCrea. There's a pretty good chance you might even know either my Grandparents or my Great Aunt and Uncle. Both have the last name Lasley.

Next time I know I'll be in the area I'll definitely let you know in advance to see if we can catch up. I'd like to make it up sometime this summer but I doubt that's going to happen.
