I finished up this Euro pen the other day with a CA finish, I think it turned out pretty good. The wood is Teak, and it has a story behind it. The teak was given to me by a friend who was a Seabee in the Navy. He told me the wood came off a cargo ship that was running between Taiwan and Africa hitting ports in between. The wood was being used as dunnage by the crew, it seems they use whatever wood they can grab for stacking between cargo. My friend grabbed it from cargo the ship dropped off while he was in Diego Garcia, an island in the Indian ocean. The Seabees would take any interesting wood they found in dunnage, replace it, and reuse the good stuff. This piece spent many years as a coin display stand before it was gifted to me.
