I found some trunk and root section of this tree at the rubbish tip in April last year. I cut this blank and some pen blanks and stored the rest.

This blank was rough turned and then stored until yesterday.

This is a hard wood and quite dense and a bit difficult to get a good sanded finish. A CA coating would work very well on a pen blank.

If my memory serves me well I think I sent a couple of these to several of you guys as a trade.

This bowl is sanded to 400 grit and then polished with Shellawax Glow. It measures 5.5in x 3in. I absolutely love the grain pattern and colours.

C & C welcome and thanks for looking.

Bob.:)

As with you... I love the grain patterns. For me - Its all with the wood.

Really nice turning (and no $100 bills attached...).

Ha Ha.

I wonder if you've ever turned anything that was less than spectacular! I'll be trying my first bowl when I get home in a couple of months. If my best looks half as good as your worst, I'll jump for joy! Another great looking bowl, Bob!
