Hi guys. I'm fairly new to all this and just finishing up collecting all the tools I need to do away with kits. All that in mind, here's my question:

I got two Esterbrook 914 nibs because Charlie Brown. Is it possible to, and where would I source the feed and housing to do a friction fit section for these things?

If it's impossible, that's fine. If there's a resource I can look to in order to find out how to do this, even better.

These were made for "dip pens" - using a nib-holder, which is basically a stick with either a crescent slot the nib pushes into or a metal clamp that holds the nib at an angle.

For great examples of these nib-and-holders check out https://www.yokepencompany.com/

Bottom line: I've never heard of feeds/housings for these nibs. You might be able to make them yourself, of course, but that would be a steep learning curve for somebody "fairly new to all this". If you decide you want to go ahead with the project, I'd love to see posts letting us know how you progress (and pix - we like pix!)

Ok. That makes a lot of sense. I could of course make a holder for these and just use them as is. That I don't think is a tall order.

Thanks for the feedback!

Have a look at this video i found it really helpful when i made a few dip pens a couple years ago.cheers
I found that earlier today! So, I actually went to Hobby Lobby and got a cheapo plastic holder for the time being. It fits those nibs quite well. I'll measure it out and reverse engineer from there and just make a wicked nice holder.

Hello,
It all depends on the diameter of the nib (and the feed). If it is 6mm (we can dream), you can find feed in many places, from FPR to aliexpress, via kanwrite. If it is 5.5mm it gets complicated, if it is 5mm, a little better.
If you can take pictures in front of a millimeter ruler (or what serves as one in the USA).
See you later
