I've only been able to find the big beefy ones for tables that are over 2 inches thick. Alternatively, if anyone sold just the geared hardware, that might work for what I have in mind too. Thanks.
In my attempt to help you out I've seen and read that back in the day there were two types of these equalizer slides. The one you link and a wire and pulley system. Apparently the wire and pulley system did not survive the battle. This link has some pictures of the wired mechanism system.
You could possibly alter your linked system to be lighter.
Rockler sells two versions of the gear and rail system. Rockler Link Osborne version
They all seem to be the roughly the same size and build. Probably for strength.
