I as searching for a source for making a bulk purchase of stoppers for the pen tubes. Widgetco.com has a good choice but I don't know whether the EDPM black stoppers would be best or the white rubber silicone stoppers. Also, are there any other good sources for tube stoppers? I would appreciate any wisdom anyone might be able to share on this topic. Thanks so much in advance.

For tube in casting such as snake skins the silicone stoppers are definitely the way to go. A search should locate several choices. I can post a link to where I purchase them later today.

I second this as well! The EPDM plugs present their own difficulties when casting, but the Clear plugs have a higher heat rating for powdercoating purposes and are more flexible for casting.

My apologies for the delay in replying. Here is the page from Echo Engineering and Production Supply where I ordered the silicone plugs. One downside is the minimum order of 200 for the sizes I needed. But, I will eventually make use of them.
Echo - Silicone Tapered Plugs 600F (315C)
I ordered item #'s 01-0000105-04SIL, 01-0000106-04SIL, and 01-0000107-04SIL and they seem to work on the tubes I use.

Don, I am still waiting for your post.

I realize this thread is a little old but just in case your still checking it this is what I do. I use homemade molds made of aquairum tubes, wooden plugs and tape. Duct tape, scotch and elect.tape. I also use cork and rubber plugs. Which ever plug I use I wrap or cover it with tape or Glad press and seal wrap. Works great and I can use them over and over.
