Endangered Spruce from Boreal Forests???

Maybe endangered in Florida, but there are Boreal forests as far as the eye can see up here....

I'd like to see some sort of facts behind the woods to avoid before I sign up to stop using them. Saying that 'gofers are endangered' doesn't tell me anything about numbers or population decline, or if it's in a specific area.

Roughly 5,000 species of animals and 28,000 species of plants are protected by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora against over-exploitation through international trade. They are listed in the three CITES Appendices. The species are grouped in the Appendices according to how threatened they are by international trade.

I use this as a guide.

I didn't mean to submit that as fact. I'm glad someone out there knows (much more) than I do. Thanks for the info. in keeping with providing interesting (?) links here is one for the International Wood Collectors Society
They are offering wood specimen kits.
