One of the PM's I received said there is talk that one of the Canadian companies is going to handle the Emperor. Anyone know anything more about that?? If so, I'd like more information.

On the thread is ok, or PM, either way.

Was there a Jr Lotus kit? I wish someone would carry some sort of Lotus kit again. Although I never made one, they were always my favorite kit pen to admire.

Part of the issue here is everyone loves to LOOK at them. The vendor who BUYS them will be committing tens of thousands of dollars that will not come back unless people BUY the kits, in substantial numbers.

I need to evaluate "best use of capital" when we make purchases.

Is this it???

(I could buy a LOT of imported acrylic with half as much money---which one will sell faster, do you suppose???)

I really liked those also! Made a great product. Perfect for your blanks, too!

I'd sure like a Regency or two also.

I talk to someone at woodcraft today and they are going to see about getting the jr emperor pen from dayacom.

I would not recommend it. I don't know how deep your pockets are, but that's a lot of inventory to hold that one of the biggest suppliers couldn't sell. Who knows, they may have a new style in the works to take it's place.

I believe individual franchise owners are allowed to purchase outside of the franchise as a whole. Usually the only reasons why some don't has to do with profit margins, they simply don't make as much money by purchasing outside of the franchise, or it violated the franchise agreement. Just my $.02

Thank you all for feedback, keep it coming please!!

BELIEVE me, if I could afford to fail, I wouldn't work this hard to succeed. And I am completely in agreement with your premise. So far, the "survey" is showing WHY CSUSA gave it up. It's also leading me to believe they will not be replacing these lines, unless its with ONE style. The Imperial, Lotus and two emperors, with multiple platings just are not supported by the number of penturners who can SELL them.

Still open to input.

In my thirties I did not visualize 14 hour days in my 60's. Fortunately, I enjoy this but it would be nice to see what a day off felt like!! (Ok, "bitching" switch off!)

For those who are curious, my most popular reply to email has been, "I love the kit, it's my favorite!!!"

Answer to How many do you buy in a year? "Ten to twenty". Takes a lot of 15's to make 5000 (including several styles and platings--and EVERYONE wants different platings!!)

I would be in for a "couple" in FP trim with any of the higher platings. But only a couple. So I don't think I'd be much help.

I hate to say it, but I agree.

Sorry.

How about an equivalent level kit that nobody else stocks? That might be a better choice...

John, sorry, here's my take on it, Ed will invest $40-50 grand and he'll be everones hero but his banker...Would I continue to buy Emperors at full price.......Hell no because I buy in large enough quanities to get 25% off on each of my orders and most that do buy the Emperor in quanities that Ed needs to sell them to also are getting 25% off, I would venture to say that less than 5% of the ACTIVE members here ever bought in these quanities, so now Ed has to sell them in ones and twos to the membership..Ed do yourself a big favor send me just half of what you were going to have to invest and keep the other half and you' be 50% ahead..:wink::cool:..;
Now Roy, you know it's not nice to leave the rest of us hanging like that. You're the one we were waiting to hear from on this :)

I got to agree with Roy. The only way I buy them is at 25% off also. They are great quality kits but costly. Same thing I PM Ed about earlier today. It would be great to still buy them at a discount but does not look to promising

I would be happy to buy two! One in a sterling silver with copper accents, one in brass with antiqued magnesium accents. Please also make the sterling kit with a different motif - something like chips and dip rather than that oriental stuff. For the brass one, how's about rubber duckies - with a thinner clip shaped like a surfboard. Do I get the IAP discount since I am ordering two at once?

Thanks in advance! I'll hang up now and listen to your response on the radio.

Ed, I have had real good luck with the Jr Emperor. However, that particular kit is only used for very special pens simply because of the cost envolved. I love the kit and when I found out that it was going to be discontinued I purchased two. There is an upscale market out there for the kits and it would be nice to get them from a trusted supplier such as Exotic's. I hope you do pick them up, not that csusa has ever treated me wrong, I just like doing business with the IAP members and sort of keep my money in house, so to speak.

So, I abandon the Emperor and go to work on designing Chris's (Wishman) pen----I'll GET RICH!!!

(Yes, this is just inserted for Chris' benefit---remember, he dubbed me the "Resinator"---I owe him!!)
