I have never givin out my password to anyone. So no. BTW: When I was new to ebay my dad and me were bidding on a nice 04 wangler. We lost the bidding but a day later I got a phony second chance offer. I fell for it at first and all but gave the guy money. Made me much more eBay savvy.

Becca,
If you've responded to an E-mail from "eBay" saying that your password needs to be reset, please go directly to ebay.com (do NOT open the E-mail again to get there) and change your password IMMEDIATELY. In all likelihood, the E-mail was a falcified E-mail. Even though the web page you visited may look a lot like a real eBay page (the spoofers are very good!), it probably wasn't eBay.

This is what happened, I received an email from a "ebay" member asking if I was still interested. I thought maybe Ray had inquired about something. I kept trying to get to the auction or what have you that this email was talking about. Never found anything out anything and never used my password but now I think the real ebay is telling me to change my password because I may have been spoofed. Also, I have ebay bookmarked and firefox remembers my password, nothing works anymore?????? It says my password is not valid and to please try again. I guess I'll just go thru and redo everything[:(]

Never never click on a link in an email from someone you don't know or were not expecting, especially if it relates to eBay or PayPal. The link will almost always take you to a bogus site which is there specifically to mine your personal data. If you get an email that looks like it is from eBay, don't open the link. Instead go to ebay by your usual method, login and check "My eBay" to see if you have any messages. If eBay actually sent you a message, a copy will be in your "My eBay" message folder.

I would also recommend that you do a full virus/malware scan of you computer. You could have been taken to a site that has installed something on your computer.

Becca,
If you had a "remembered" password that doesn't work now, I suggest you call ebay immediately and have them check your account to be certain everything is ok. I get those fake emails from ebay and paypal all the time. However, I know they're fake because they aren't coming to the email address I use for either of the accounts.

Went in and changed info, ebay had sent me an alert in my ebay messages that my account may have been compromised. I never give out any info to anyone but I must have tried to hard to open that weired so called ebay mail. Thanks for your help!

They send out the same spam for banks, electronic greeting cards, and long lost school friends trying to find you.

As said, never open a link in an email that you are not 110% positive sure you know who it came from.
