Those increases are only for eBay people who have an eBay Store Account, NOT for the normal core users...

I was thinking of closing my E-Bay store after my web site was up and running, now I'm thinking much harder.BTW Dario thanks for turning me on to SK

I was thinking about Ebay on the ride home tonight. I don't buy there anymore. Really most of the deals are gone. Still some good wood opportunities, but other than that...

Cheers,

Fangar

It is kind of a double edged sword. While I think it stinks that I can't get steals from Darrick and his dad, I am happy for them that they are getting much better prices than they used to.

I will continue to buy/sell on eBay but most likely it will be reduced drastically.

As I said, hopefully this move will help get other/similar online auction stores a chance to be known. (Anyone know of another?)

While Chitswoods may be getting more from their auctions now...soon all those extra will end up in eBay's account [;)]

As long as they are auctions, and not store listed items it shouldn't be bad.

Chitswood should be doing an online store, and skipping the ebay fees.

For me it is good actually...it is purely psychological but it made a big impact.

I now bid less than 5% of how I used to. I used to watch more than 50 items at any given time and win more than 70% of the items I put my sight on. NOTE for clarity, I do not bid on all the items I am watching LOL.

Now I only watch 5 or so items and hardly placed a bid these past weeks. I might have just found the eBay cure...turn users off by higher fees LOL

There are many auction sites out there, including yahoo, wagglepop, overstock, etc.

I think the issue comes down to buyers do not search those sites. Perhaps if someone created search engine technology that allowed someone to search for auction listings, regardless of venue, that could stir eBay to be competitive on prices, as sellers would probably go to lower cost providers.

e Bay got too big for their britches. Their store fees are too high in my opinion. Regular fixed cost is all I would even consider. But remember; the best reason to use e Bay is not simply to make a sale; it is to make a connection w/ someone who likes your product. Once they have purchased or contacted you, you can then send them e mail ads and it is not spam. John Eaton
