This wood was a pain to work with. Reminded me of sheep in the regard that all it wanted to do was try and kill itself. Used CA along the way to try and stabilize what I could and as I got to the end, more areas appeared that could have used some love, but I left them alone. I wanted a more satin finish on this one as the red parts of the pen were shiny enough. Used rubio monocoat on it.

I never thought about using the Exotic Blanks Prism finishes with wood until I saw your post. I've always used the red one with plastic blanks like the PSI Thin Red Line blank that Ed sells. - Thanks for the idea. - Dave
 
Some pieces of wood cry out to end up being what is called "Rustic" in their finished form. And that is the best possible way to utilize that type of wood. That is what you have here and that is what you did. Great job! Beautifully crafted pen.
