Has anybody used this product for making molds?

I would be using it with PR Silmar 41

Not sure how big of a mold you could make with .5lb? I also like the avatar!! I play everyday the weather is nice.

I try to play as often as I can which hasn't been very often as of late.


I was going to order the 1 pound but that was one of my concerns how big of a mold I could actually make with it. Anybody know of something similar but maybe 5 pounds?

Smooth-on sells a silicone putty at a much better price and in larger quantities than what you linked at Blick.

These puttys are not intended to make "block" molds so you won't use as much as you might think (and you might not get the results you expect). With a pot life of less than 5 minutes, you have to mix and work fast.

there was actully a post on here recently I think about someone making their molds w/ this stuff. Let me dig. If I find it I will link to it. It had a Video on it too.

I bought Vinamold yellow, it is a great molding substance. Heat it to approx. 140℃ and pour. If you make a mistake, you can re-melt it and pour again. Great for one off molds as you can re-use it. You can use the mold for approx 100 casts then you need to make a new one.
