I have never tried dying the wood, but I love the way it turns out. I've tried to find information on how to do it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you!

I just started to do some Cactus Juice stabilizing. Eventually I want to try dying some red oak and wormy american chestnut. The chestnut needs stabilizing anyways and needs something like color to give it appeal. I think the chestnut should dye very well as what I have is old soft and very dry. Some of the oak should do well also. I've scroll sawed lots of red oak and I know there is a good variety of grain both hard and soft in each piece. No promise when but when I get results I will post.

PM Curtis "MesquiteMan" He had a piece of hardwood with him, that I think was oak, at the last MPG that was about 4" thick, if I remember correctly. He had pulled green dye all the way through with cactus juice and his vacuum chamber. I'm sure it wont be a problem. The only wood I have tried that didn't take dye was bamboo.
