Okay, another Gatsby (thought not Grande). In a rut, already, but for this one I was constrained by blank size. I found this little piece of maple with nice figure and it wasn't long enough for the Trimline kits I have. Which left a Gatsby. But, I'm happy with how this turned out:
Wanted to play with dye, and I'm partial to blue-dyed maple (refinished an archtop that way years ago). Lots of learnings. But I'm pleased, and so is my honey, which is my standard.
I'm kind of excited to start experimenting with colors now. My wife loves purple; I'm wondering how a purple sycamore Trimline would look. Hmm…
