Hi Does anyone have this dust collector? A Grizzly G8027 1 HP Dust Collector or one this size. It's 149.95 plus $46.50 shipping. I have got to get a small collector just need it for the mini lathe. HF has asmaller one for $99.00.I know you only get what you pay for but thats about all i can afford right now. Thought about buying a big shopvac, but figured I would be cleaning the filter all the time. Any recommendations??? Thanks Rich H

The Amazon site has reviews on it which are all positive. I have the same size Delta and a large shop vac. Bought the vac first, now that I have the dust collector don't really need the vac. Fewer shavings to clean up and you can use the DC for that also.
 
That model has 30 micron filter bags which is WAY too big. IF you get it buy some new 1 micron bags or cannisters for it. 1-2 microns is what you want to shoot for.:wink:

Hi Rick, Will going to a really low micron bag really lower the suction. Not sue on that. Or should I try to get a 1.5 HP with a 2.5 micron bag?? Amazon had re shipping before Christmas. wish now I would have ordered it then. Thanks Rich H
 
It seems kind of underpowered.

We went with HF's 2HP collector and upgraded it with their 0.5 micron canister filter kit for both the shop at our home and at Cathy's dad's.
 
I have the Steel City 1hp DC. It's worked great for me doing exactly what you are trying to do. It comes with a 1 micron bag already, and can be found through Wodcraft for around $200 or something, I don't know it's probably gone up since I bought it.
