Aware of health problems caused by inhaling wood dust, I purchased a dust hood and will be attaching it to my lathe with the hose going to my shop vac.
Somewhere in the IAP "world", I read about needing to ground the vent system (in my case flexible hose from dust collector outlet to the shop vac). The article mentioned about it not being necessary if you use a metal vent system ...whereas some grounding is necssary if you just use a flexible hose...such as using the shop vac hose.

2. I don't know if my "facts" are correct
3. I don't want to make matters worse...
Would appreciate some recommendations. My finances don't allow purchase one of those effective commercial systems. My total shop area is a 5x10' narrow room. I have a good fan and big open door...and that's it.
