I've seen a lot of different ideas for ways to remove bubbles with vacuum devices, but the one thing I've not seen is someone using a food sealer for this purpose. We've got an older one that needs to be replaced soon. It has a hose that hooks up to different sized containers which will create a vacuum inside the container. One of those container is for marinating meat, chicken etc. It's like 9"x9" by about 2" high, and it really creates a vacuum inside.

What would be wrong with putting your mold with resin (keep in mind I haven't made a cast of anything yet) in the marinating container, and hooking it up to the food sealer via the hose and create the vacuum?

Any ideas if this would work or not?

There's other threads about this. It 'works' ... sort of. You need more vacuum
than those units will normally produce. If you're looking to soak a piece of wood
and get a dye solution into it, that's great. If you're looking to get a thinned varnish
into the wood, it's not bad. But the purpose of pulling a vacuum with resin is to degas
it, and that just isn't strong enough.
