I was going to make some blanks with PR but have one problem.I forgot how many drops of hardener per ounce of resin. This getting old is the worse thing i have ever done.

3 drops is safe. Some use more, I've used less with great results. If you get it too hot it will crack as it cures. Unless you have a warm place like in front of a heat duct, it will probably take all night to cure. I usually pour and let the tank sit for 20 to 24 hours.

Currently I'm pouring two days a week in IL weather in my basement. I pour with 18 oz cups filled with 15-16 oz of resin and put 30-35 drops per cup. I warm the resin first with a lighbulb until its water thin. I let it cool down for about 10 minutes before adding the hardener. I'm pouring clear feather blanks and haven't had any problems after being in the tank over night. If your adding color dye's you might want a little more hardener but its not needed if you have time to let it cure.

Typically 3-5, depending on temp. Three if it's hot. Five if it's cold. Can go a little higher, but blanks begin to get brittle and chippy. Silmar 41 recommends ten, but that's like turning glass.

I use 6 in Silmar41 and never had a problem of too brittle. I usually am pouring around 4 to 6 ounces at a time.

I have cast blanks in the past and some range from slightly sticky to hard and chippy when turning.I give the molds 24-48 hours before handling them. Thanks for the info and suggestions. It looks like I will be casting some pen and stopper blanks this weekend.
