For some reason I cannot find my 10mm drill bit. Can a 25/64" be substituted? I tried local industrial supplies and Lowes and there was nothing.

thanks!

I use a Letter "X" or Letter "Y" drill on plastics when I have a thick layer of paint in the blank and/or on the tube. Here is an excerpt from a chart that I use often:

25/64 = 0.3906 inches (9.921mm)
10mm = 0.3937 inches (10.0mm)
"X" = 0.397 inches (10.08mm)
10.2mm = 0.4016 inches (10.02mm)
"Y" = 0.404 inches (10.26mm)
13/32 = 0.4062 inches (10.317mm)

So, a 25/64 might be a little tight, but you might be able to run the bit through a couple of times or use a round file to open the hole up just a bit depending on the tolerances. Make sure to test fit the tube and blank before applying any kind of adhesive.

Good Luck,
Dave
