For those who may be familiar with the old series, or perhaps the new, my local PBS station will be airing the first season (out of two) of the new Dr Who. (Britian starts season three in a few weeks) I got to see the first two episodes this evening during their beg-a-thon!

To funny Greg----SWMBO hates the show and I love it. But of course I remember it from years ago before they had all the high tech shows. So it's rare that I get to watch it---but I sure do like it.

Tom Davidson, our (my wife watched it also!) favorite Doctor. And who can forget the Dahliks!Ex-ter-men-ate, ex-ter-men-ate! The newer show isn't quite as cheesy and the special effects are more beleiveable. Got to remember though the new episodes are 3 seasons old and British productions have always been a few years behind ours anyway. Still a good show though. I take it that since the first season of this new series there is at least one new Doctor going into its third season.

I just got to see the newest series a couple of months ago. Si-Fi channel ran about 6 episodes --- then it was gone again. I really don't get to watch much TV so it was a treat for me.

I was a big fan back during Tom Baker but stopped watching shortly after he left. The new series is well done. Although I haven't seen enough of either of the first two seasons to know the the major what and why's the episodes I've seen have done a good job to me in keeping with the feel of the original show. Season one had Christopher Eccleston as the 9th doctor and season two and it looks like three have David Tennant. Each is very different and while both good I've liked David a bit better. I've liked what I've seen and have to say from season two there was an episode, The Girl in the Fireplace, that I would rank as one of the best hours of television I watch all year.

That's him!! Tom Baker! Tell it has been a while!! Tom Baker then Peter Davidson! Easy enough to mix up!! My bad. Locally it will be aired twice a week so if we miss the first time we have a second chance! I do like Christopher Eccleston, kinda reminds me of Baker. I haven't seen Tennant but read that he was the new Doctor going into the 3rd season. Since these are on the local PBS, hopefully there will be a large enough viewership response that shows interest into obtaining season 2.

Tom Baker was definitively the best Dr. Who. Saw a few epeisodes of the new series and think I could get into it once I stop comparing it to the "Baker" era.

Didn't realize they were doing a new series. Only caught a few of the old series due to limited TV reception back then. I just may have to check this new one out.

The Sci Fi network has been broadcasting Dr. Who for two years now. Its in between seasons right now. The shows being broadcast on BBC were broadcast the first year on Sci Fi. I used to watch 20 years or more ago, then it went away and then Sci Fi picked it up and I started watching again. My wife ignored the first season and then started watching the season that just ended. The BBC broadcasts have allowed her to go back and watch the first season. She's hooked now.
