Hi People, I hope you have all survived Sandy.
Here is the finished bowl I showed in production the other day. The timber is unknown (Japanese Flowering Tree??????), the dark dowels are Jarrah and the larger/lighter pieces are from a broom handle so I guess you could call it "Broom" wood..
The bowl measures 6 x 2.5in, and is finished with Shellawax GLOW.
Hope you like it.
C & C welcome.

I did recognise the wood as the "Japanese Flowering tree" as this was the name the person that had the, called it.

The wood has just such a pleasant grain colour and works beautifully, in my opinion.

I'm not going to ask you, what made you start doing the large vertical drilling's but, one thing is for sure, it makes it quite interesting and eye catcher, no doubt.

Well executed and a nice finish on this piece, congrats...!

The way you go, you should be running out of wood soon, I wonder where you are going to get some more...???:biggrin:

Cheers
George
