I had some free time yesterday so I decided to do some stabilizing. These are two blanks from the batch. A few different woods were used. I'm not sure of what they all are though. I went for doing a double dyed look. First color was red then followed with blue. I'm really happy with the results!

Great results! I've been wanting to try my hand at that too. I've had lots I practice with regular stabilizing but not so much with color. Your results are very encouraging!

How about progress pics

I've turned a number of double dyed blanks and experienced a huge change in coloration throughout the process of turning. Depending on the type of wood, beginning width, final width, the changes were dramatic and I wished that I would have taken sequential photos during the turning. Would love to see how these turn out !

how about a partially turned pic?

I'm hoping to do just that today

Looks like these are going to look great. Do you know what you are doing, or is just luck and running with an idea?

I think I have a pretty good idea of what I did. My next batch (different colors though) will be the deciding factor if my methods and results are consistent.
