Mannie that was great it brought tears to my eyes. Because I remember when I got back from Vietnam I was the one of the guys that got spit on by the younger pepole at the airport. Now when ever i see a person in uniform i say thank you.. So again Thanks to all of you guys that have served and to the the ones that gave it all I will see you all someday until then God Bless all of you .

I have always been ashamed of the way people acted in this period of our lives. I'm so sorry you had to live thru that. THANK YOU for your service!!!!

Thanks Mannie, that is a great video!!

That works.

A few other ways I've found that works:
A handshake and a sincere, "Thank you."
Picking up their tab at a restaurant.
Sending a group a round of drinks to their table.

Don't be shy.

I, too got a little teary. As a Korean War veteran I am so proud of our service men and women. May they stay safe and live long lives. We need them now more than ever.

I like it..except for the red shirt part. Wear a red shirt on Friday at certain places around these parts and someone will try to be your backdoor lover.

Remember to say thank you to everyone, servicemen and women especially, but also anyone who helps you. You never know how you might change someones day or their outlook on life. I know from working with despondent people, people on the very edge of humanity that most people pretend don't exist, that you can change their day just with a smile and a nod.

That homeless guy on the corner with the sign? Smile and acknowledge him. You don't have to give him money, but sometimes a simple acknowledgement will go a long way towards him wanting to wake up the next day and try again.

The teenage cashier? You may have interrupted thoughts of how they were going to write their suicide note later after they got off of work. All with a simple smile and a thank you.

One of my favorite sayings goes like this "People may not remember exactly what you did or what you said, but they will always remember how you made them feel"

Anyone who does service for us deserves a thank you. I think that a simple thank you and please would make the world a much better place. You never know what that thank you may do for a person's day. Those two things and a smile make the world around us a nicer and better place. I know, for me, that when I leave a patient's home their thank you certainly makes me feel good about the time I have spent with them and the service that I have provided.
