I have been practicing my disc golf ALOT lately, and after about 8 years with the same exact disc, I have decided to finally retire it. It is an old "Vortex" driver. This disc has always been my foolproof, gotta make the shot, thick and thin disc. Now i have a "Elite Z Crush" that is a BEAST! 300foot drives with no warm up or nothing.

And i bet you people thought i was talking about something else huh??!!!

getting them out is the easy part!! Getting them IN the hole is a different story!!!!

In reality, Disc Golf is played with a "basket" as opposed to a "cup". The basket is about 4 or 5 feet tall and about two feet across. It has chains that hang down from the top and a metal basket on bottom that is about 3 or so feet high.

It is essentially the same as golf, only instead of driving little cars and hitting little white balls with sticks, We walk through the park, throwing discs. It is alot of fun, and some pretty good fairly low impact workout! Lots of walking!! You can even learn the overhand throw and then it is very low impact all the way around.

Lost my favorite Tee Bird today (sniff, sniff). That sure was a nice disc. Bought a replacement right after the round, but it'll never be the same as "Old Purple." I'm sure gonna miss him.

Yeah that was part of the reason i retired het Vortex. I have swam through some really questionable water to retrievethat disc. I have spent some hours in the weeds looking for it, and have been very lucky so far. Now I am going to hang it on a nail on the wall. It always sucks to lose a favorite disc. It's like getting kicked in the shin.

Hey Aaron, you got any disc golf courses by your house?? I've attempted to start playing this sport. We got 3 or 4 courses around here. Doing it mainly for the exercise and it's free to play.

geesh, I guess i shoulda thought that siggy out a little better huh. I didn't even realize. I will go change it right now... How funny!

I will just use his stage name! That looks alot better!!

The closest course to me is about 45 minutes away, BUT who needs a course when you have a piece of PVC and a metal pole?

I set the pole up and we shoot at it from different directions. It is more walking because you gotta walk out from the hole, then turn around and walk back, but it is still hella fun! We will definately throw some, and even make the trip to the course while you visit if you want! It is one of my favorite things to do!
