Hi,

I am donating a few pens for a silent auction at my daughters school coming up in a few weeks.. What would the best way to display them be? People will have access to touch the items as they will be there for display..

What recommendations do people have for displaying these so people would be super careful with them? They will be a Majestic with worthless wood and and a EB with BOW on it.

Maybe a sign asking people not to pick up or handle carefully? LOL

Put them in a box (even a Monty low cost box)... MOST people will pick up the box and look at the pen, then put it down, but not try and take the pen out of the box. Much less chance of drop/damage.

Good idea, if its strapped in, less chance of being handled too much or ink being used up by testing

Just posted a few pics of the majestic being donated http://www.penturners.org/forum/showthread.php?p=923572

I second the box idea. it is how I display my highest priced pens. I do keep others of the same style but not necessarily as much work in them for people to get a feel for the pen but usually only serious buyers actually ask to handle the boxed pen itself. If yo think a simple box will not do put in a glass top box, nobody will touch that. and it makes the pen look like it is worth a lot more also.

Nice pen!!!! I understand your concern about not wanting someone to mess it up but, if I was participating in the auction and was willing to spend some $$$ on it, I would want to try it out... to see how it feels in the hand and how it writes? Perhaps the armed guard is the best solution .
