Just dropped in to let everyone know I am fine. Mannie had asked about me the other day and then I have not been on since then. The earthquakes or still going on but nothing really bad has come from then other than... We really are not used to them. My kids and a few other people are nearly really getting rattled by all this. Loosing sleep, frayed nerves and that sort of thing. Basically really scared that we will be hit with a big one. So I have been spending most of my free time with them, helping keep there minds occupied and that sort of thing. plus they are all still young enough that daddy being close by keeps all the bad things away. Anyway just wanted to let you know I didn't loose power or the internet or anything just have more important things right now.

Glad to hear everything is OK, even though the earth is still shaking, terra firma not so firm right now.
IIRC from my geology classes in college back in the 70's, a lot of small quakes is a good thing, it releases the tension in short bursts rather than all at one time.

Daniel, good to hear that all is well. We live in Indiana, not far from the cluster of Illinois quakes that have been rumbling for a week or so. We had another dish rattler over the weekend but most of them are only measurable to Mr. Richter. My 90 year old mother is spending a lot of time worrying about the quakes, we have had enough. Keep telling those kids that everything is going to be alright, it really does make a difference to a kid to think that daddy can take care of everything. Good luck and God bless.

Gerry, From what I understand. The ground here is more broken up so a 4.0 here is not felt as strongly as it would be for you there where the plates are more in one solid piece. Also do tot he ground being solid the wave will travel farther. From what I was told a 4.0 would really rattle things for you for us it is more of a gentle swaying motion. & miles from where my house is it is cracking walls in houses and tearing bathtubs out that sort of thing. But they are right on top of the center of the quake.
Mannie, I keep telling my kids to hope for more little ones cause that means we have a better chance of not having a big one. The way these quakes are acting has the pros a little stumped though. They are not going from strongest and then tapering off, they are actually getting stronger at times. the worst was last Friday so far and we haven't had as many in the last couple of days. Maybe we are past the worst of them (knock on wood)
