Hi,

You just never know when a pen in your tray will have it's day. Sometimes you think a pen will sell well and it doesn't, then something else does.

Today I had a customer come to the house to buy a pen for her boyfriend for Valentines Day. She selected a pen that had been in my tray for 3 years, I had long ago given up on it and what do you know...the "Dog" pen woke up and was sold....she was delighted!

Don't give up on those pens that have birthdays, they just need the right customer, eh!

I had one of those. It was a diomondwood in field and steam. A euro. I never liked it myself, then my boss came over and picked it out of all the products I had displayed. You just never know.

We had a pro demonstrator come to our club that sets a price on his turnings and never lowers it. And his theory is that when the right customer comes along the turning will sell. He told stories of turnings setting in his house for 8-10 years. He sells many pieces out of his house, and they are large pieces, 24" tall or larger.

I sold antiques for years. I found that when I lowered the price on a "dog" it still would not sell. A few time I raised my prices across the board and immediately sold the "dog" piece for the higher price.
