Does PR stick well to Minwax hardened wood?

Just bouncing an idea here.

I wanted to cast scrap wood but want to keep the bark if possible. My idea is to stabilize the bark first with Minwax wood hardener before casting later. Will that work?

If not, will soaking it with thin CA first then casting be okay?

Soak it with thin CA. I think you will find, however, that the bark will not look as nice as you think it will.
