Does anyone use a web camera??? If so what do you use it for and what is a good one??? Does it work well??? Maybe a good idea or a not so good idea????

I have one built in to my monitor and the same with my laptop but I use neither. Can't help you with that.

I use the web cam built in to my laptop. We have many friends overseas and we use the camera and software called Skype to video conference. Same deal with my web developer.

Ditto. I use a webcam and Skype on a regular basis to keep in touch with friends and family overseas.

Take a look at my Carson Valley Weather website (see my signature below for the link) and you'll see how I use my webcam. It shows an image of the Carson Range in western Nevada south of Reno/Carson City. The mountains are the east side of Lake Tahoe and Heavenly ski resort. It runs 24/7...

LOML uses a web and MSN Live to call her Pen Pal in England. I just go a new mini laptop (netbook) This model doesn't have camera but I can hook a web cam. It has Skype loaded on it. I will be checking it out and maybe start using it.

We bought my father-in-law one for christmas and hook up as a video phone the windows live messenger. It works great. one of the guys on my crew at work uses a wireless one to keep an eye on his cows when they are calving from the confort of his kitchen!
