Do You prefer Clear or Water Clear Alumilite ?

Clear is harder and polishes better than Water Clear. Water Clear was their original clear formula and Clear came along after a discussion I had with MIke, the owner, about making a formula that is better for turning. I did all the initial testing for them to come up with a formula that had the properties needed for a better turning resin which is what is now being sold as Alumilite Clear.

I prefer the clear. The open time is shorter but as long as you have your process ducks all lined up in a row, it doesn't pose much of a problem. Both turn like butter and you can kick out a blank start to finish with clear in less than two hours. Probably less if you're really good!
Curtis is the resident pro on all things Alumilite. He's a great resource when you have a technical question as well as all the people at Alumilite. It's great stuff!

By the way Curtis...thanks for doing that. It is some good stuff to turn.
